we found a bunch of this vintage ribbon which was manufactured for newberrys 'five and dime' stores. as the labels indicate, these were intended and sold for use at christmas time. the bright colors and graphics on the cardboard spools tell that these are from the 1960s. what a wild and colorful time! christmas with these 'groovy' colors surely never made its way to our house!
this ribbon is in a peachy-pink, which reminds us of flamingos.
fabric-backed (most likely acetate) velvet ribbon is 2 1/2 " wide. there is 6 feet of ribbon.
the ribbon was affixed to the spool with a staple, so there are occasional holes which will likely disappear when the ribbon is tied.
*to save money on shipping, we will remove the ribbon from the spool for mailing. if you would like the cardboard spool, please add an additional $2 for shipping.
