this jar, or canister, is of terra cotta, painted a shabby white with gold accents. decorated with a garland of roses, it would look great in your kitchen, powder room, or on a mantle. the interior is glazed white, and you can see the potter's finger ridges, indicating it is handmade. marked "italy" on the bottom, it is substantial in weight and size:stands 11 1/2 inches tall with top and 8 inches without, 5 1/2 inches across. one small chip on inner rim, visible in picture with lid off, undetectable with lid on.
